The Indian sculptures on the skyline on Sullivant Hills above the
Fort site are a reminder of the events of 1866. They were sculpted, life-size, with
a welding torch, by historian and past FPK/BTA board member, Alan Bourne.

- The Foundation has been the lead organization in the
project to purchase land on Sullivant Hills directly opposite, and in direct view of the
Fort. The Foundation has raised $95,000 in addition to a $62,500 matching grant from
the Peter Kiewit Foundation of Omaha, Nebraska, and has purchased twelve, roughly 5-acre
lots. It has secured the land on the horizon (where the life-size metal sculptures of
Indians on the hill overlook the Fort) and the bulk of the land below. As purchased, the lots were donated to the Association.
- Raised an additional $40,000
for an endowment, with interest to be used to support Association projects.
- The Foundation and
Association has raised over $38,000 to match a $152,000 grant from the Wyoming Department
of Transportation for completing the stockade corners archaeology and reconstruction
project.
- The Foundation has funded
the initial redesign of this web site, and the editing and photo selection for the pages.
Donations are being accepted for land preservation,
special projects, and for permanent endowment funds, and should be mailed to Bill Dooley,
CPA, Foundation Treasurer, 293 South Main, Buffalo, WY 82834. For information on
