145th Anniversary Tour of Fetterman
Battle and Fort Phil Kearny will begin at 10:00 am at the Fort Phil
Kearny Visitor Center, exit 44, Interstate 90. The tour will
begin with a discussion at the Fort, which lead up to the battle and
a demonstration of the weapons used in the battle by both
sides. Participants will then carpool to the battlefield for
a walking tour of the site showing Indian positions and attack
routes, military defensive positions, and the flow of the battle.
The Fort Phil Kearny Bozeman Trail
Association and Kearny's Frontier Regulars following the tour will
serve hot Drinks and Snacks at the visitor center. Dress as
prevailing weather conditions dictate. |
